“NEW is meaningful to me because it gives opportunities for women to partner together to promote the overall development, both personal and professional, of women.”

How did you first hear about NEW, and what prompted you to join?
I heard about NEW through my company and was offered a membership. I went to a couple of events and was hooked and wanted to get involved. After moving to Denver, it took me a while to get back into it, but then a new Region was started.
How has NEW impacted your personal/professional life?
In my professional life, it has given me the opportunity to meet and interact with some amazing women outside of my own industry. Through this, it provides networking opportunities, mentoring and friendship.

Currently, I am involved in the planning for the administration of COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution and Administration within the state. We have been partnering with several county health departments to assist in their plans to vaccinate the community. The plans include offering appointments, drive-thru clinics and going onsite to employers along with many other options.
Many individuals ask when can they get the vaccine or how will it be prioritized. In phase 1, it includes health care workers, first responders, and EMS initially. The second phase will be offered to seniors, patients with co-morbidities and essential workers. The next phase will be for the general public for healthy individuals 16 years and older.
This has been one of the most challenging, exhausting, and rewarding experiences I have ever been involved in. And knowing that we are a part of a historical moment in time and being able to take care of those who need it most makes it all worth it.
