Charity Bailey

Television Host, Creator of ‘Girl, We Need To Talk’

Charity Bailey is a television host, media personality, and seasoned journalist who specializes in a unique brand of storytelling that educates and inspires the masses. Her career began as a public relations intern for the Los Angeles Clippers, Fox Sports Network, and KCBS while studying journalism and public relations at Cal State University, Long Beach.

Charity honed her craft working as a sideline reporter and host for HCTV 22, and then as a feature reporter at the CBS/NBC affiliates in Chico, CA. While working in newsrooms for Good Day Sacramento and FOX 46 in Charlotte, NC,  her desire to tell stories that matter and give a voice to the voiceless began to grow. In 2015, she became a co-host for RightThisMinute,  a syndicated news and entertainment, viral video television show. Her irresistible personality, signature laugh, and love for people shines through and makes her a favorite among viewers. In 2020, Charity launched a web series on Youtube titled, “Girl, We Need To Talk” to create space for open, honest, transparent conversations.

With her work, Charity’s goal is to bring humanity back to television and entertainment, and spread a message of hope with her audiences. She also participates in programs and initiatives that serve women and girls on a local and national level as a mentor, volunteer, and speaker.

Aurellia Thompson

Grief and Family Therapist

Aurellia serves as a mental health therapist specializing in relationship/family systems, grief, & spirituality in North Carolina. Aurellia obtained her MA in Counseling from Palo Alto University, M.Div from Duke University, & holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology from Howard University. Her research areas of interest include the role spirituality plays in grief stages, the effects of trauma and loss among adolescents in foster care, & the role African American spirituality plays in mental health treatment. Aurellia is a trained clinical Chaplain, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate and ordained minister. She is the Founder and CEO of Hidden Gem Enterprises, LLC, a company which seeks to inspire & empower people to live their lives with intentionality. She is author of two books, “The Journey: Past, Present, Future” and “Lipgloss, Blazers, & Shoes: Knowing Your Identity and Purpose.” Originally from Sacramento, CA, Aurellia currently resides in North Carolina with her husband & 3 children.

Kris Torres

Managing Director, Accenture Dallas Advanced Technology Center and Cloud Innovation Center

Kris Torres is the Managing Director for the Accenture Dallas Advanced Technology Center and Cloud Innovation Center. At the center, Kris focuses on building Lean Product & Extreme Programming delivery practices that support creating valuable cloud-based products at speed. Kris is passionate about building diverse teams with a strong belief that every voice is needed in technology to create systems that best meet the needs of our diverse community. She is recognized as a Dallas Business Journal 2022 Woman in Technology Honoree.

Kris has over a decade of membership and volunteer leadership with NextUp. She additionally serves on the board of Bold Idea and the Corporate Advisory Board for DFW Association of Latino Professionals For America.

When not at work, you can find Kris working in her garden, reading a book, hiking, or playing with her boys, ages 3 & 7.
